BIRTHDAY EVE, STRIPES, GATHERS & GOLD!

Well, its still Birthday eve, so I'm still in my 20's! It's just I've realised I'm tres busy celebrating all day tomorrow, so won't get chance to post an outfit! As I've already missed one post this week, I need to catch up slowly but surely....

So.... This is what I wore on Sunday. The ensemble consists of a classic black polo neck, (a delightful present from a friend) teamed with matching black leggings. I then added this stylish Pretty Disturbia Pre- production sample crop top and one of our best seller, Pretty Disturbia, black satin gather skirts £49.99, accessorised with this stunning vintage gold choker which was also a present and matched the gold buttons in my top appropriately! I'm also wearing my chunky grip boots which I'm becoming very attached to!
Right, methinks its time to crack open a bottle of red wine and celebrate the end of my very fabulous twenties! I just hope the next chapter in my life is even half as fun and exciting!......

SPLASH JUMPER DRESSES & GOODBYE 20'S!

Well Its birthday eve, which means the last day of my 20's. I actually cried about it yesterday I felt so sad leaving my fabulous 20's behind... and I think my moody face also depicts my feelings quite aptly!

In the last attempt to cling onto my youth (and inspired by one of my favourite films growing up as a child) I wore this cowl neck jumper dress which really resembles a blue knitted dress, just like Daryl Hannah wore in the 80's classic mermaid film, Splash!
This pink one is not original 80's (like me) and was in fact purchased last week from New Look for just £7 in the sale!
I teamed it with Bright pink Mac eyeshadow to match, Black leggings, hot pink knee socks and my £15 patent chunky boots.
Well, Next time I post I will indeed be in my thirties...so goodbye twenties... And heres, ( I hope) to a more mature and wiser blogger....

COLOUR CLASH & GEOMETRIC 80'S!

Well, I hope you all had a fun- filled weekend? I certainly did, and now I'm sad its Monday again! Especially as I'm working on my accounts, having a filling done in an hour and I turn the dreaded 3-0 in just 3 days time....weep.

Anywho, I think I'm reliving my youth in this colourful 80's outfit! This fun batwing top is original 80's and has suede patchwork shapes on it, costing me just £1 from Retro Rehab in Manchester! A friend of mine pointed out that this jumper was probably worn by a geeky tour guide in the 80's and now its ooober trendy....how things change!
I teamed it with an orange mini skirt from River Island and a H&M purple fitted polo neck with grey marl leggings from Topshop.

You may notice my footwear is o so chunkier than normal, as these are my "I-won't-fall-on-my-bum-again" practical, big grip boots which were just £15 from a cheap shoe shop on Oldham street! But so far they do indeed, do the trick in keeping me upright in the snow and surprisingly, I'm really growing to like them!

POKADOTS AND MUDDY BUMS!

A Happy fun filled Friday to all!
Well, This is what I wore yesterday when I decided to fall on my elbow! Imagine this outfit with a dishevelled looking face and big muddy bum and and thats what I looked like by the end of the day! I learnt my lesson though and donned myself some chunky PVC docker boots with big grips today at lunch, so hopefully no more muddy bums for me this week!

Anywho, I wore a simple grey marl polo neck and leggings, both of which are from Topshop, under this retro style pokadot rara dress from H&M which was just £5 in a charity shop. I'm wearing a designer shrug which I got for £20 from the MFN sample sale (which I'm working on Tomorrow) and a belt which I borrowed from a vintage dress. Then there's my "killer" over the knee boots which did indeed cause the humorous elbow injury, and I have not yet forgiven them.
Right, off for dinner at Nando's once I've finished up here in the office... have a fabulous weekend peeps and pop by to The Triangle for the Sample Sale tomorrow if your around- There's Pretty Disturbia designer samples for as little as £10!

STYLISED FACES AND TU-TU'S!

Well, its offiical... I now hate the snow. It's not surprising really as I've fallen on my bum on it twice today alone! And if it was'nt embarrassing enough to do such a thing, I did it in the centre of Manchester, for all to see! I'm feeling very sorry for myself and my poor elbow after it took the brunt of my 10 stone weight!

Anywho, on to a much happier note, I wore this delightful outfit yesterday which consists of a vintage shirt from Rags to Bitches for £10- The shirt is such a fabulous design with stylised faces incorporated into the swirls and better still its a polyester mix so it does'nt need ironing! A win- win buy! I teamed it with a tutu from Bay Trading (in the closing down sale) and some crisps cream tights, with festive velvet black pixie boots- (again not very practical for the snow). Now, off to find some practical footwear so I can venture outside again... wish me luck!

50's AMERICANA STRIPES & EAGLES!

Well, Happy Hump day as they say in America! (which, I recently found out on Twitter is to celebrate half way through the working week!)

I thought it appropriate to link to the U.S. as I dressed very 50's Americana in this little ensemble on New Years Day, in the attempt to keep dressing up in pretty dresses, whilst I still could.
I wore a simple fitted black polo neck which was a present, a striped cotton dress from George, teamed with a fabulous vintage underskirt I bought for £30 which "totally" transforms the dress, leggings for warmth and my kooky white, peep toe stilettos- which were'nt too practical for walking about in the snow! I accessorised with a big black rose ring from Portabello Road market, my investment purchase, Giorgio Armani patent bag and an Eagle pendant necklace which I've had years.... how very kitsch Americana.

EGYPTIAN CHOKERS AND VINTAGE RA RA'S!

Well a very Happy New Year to you all! It was my New Years resolution (among many) to post on my blog, daily in 2010 and its already started tres badly, seeing as its now the 5th and its my first blog post!....O well.

As it is my first post in this spanking new decade, I thought it apt to show what I wore on New Years Eve with the best intention to catch up on the days!...
I wore this simple 80's vintage black lace, gather dress which I've had years and cost me just £1 from a car boot sale! I dressed it up with this huge and (ooober heavy) Egyptian style choker which I recently bought from Topshop for £45 and some over the knee patent boots for £35 from Varanni shoe shop in Manchester. It was a comfortable little number to wear for a special home cooked meal, on to Cloud 23 for champagne cocktails and simply the best fireworks display I've ever seen, with a sea of stunning fireworks going off all over the city skyline.
It was the perfect, glamorous way to start the New Year with a bang... and followed with an unforgettable banging headache the next morning!....
