VINTAGENESS & HALLOWEEN EVE!

A tres Happy Halloween to you all! I'm listening to "Thriller" as I write this to get me in the mood for the "Lost boys" themed fancy dress party I'm attending this weekend! I heart dressing up in dark theatrical vampish things, and its 80's too....perfect! I've even got the Lost Boys DVD to watch later to inspire me, having already decorated the apartment with tacky skull lanterns and skeletons!....

I wore this non halloween inspired outfit yesterday which consists of a vintage cardigan with frills, a kitsch, vintage floral print knitted vest (£9.99- charity shop) an aqua polo neck from H&M, Maroon leggings from Next, my Pretty Disturbia, plum satin gather skirt (£49.99) and my leather cow boy boots.
Now wheres my fangs? I'm going to pop them in whilst I work the next few hours, just because, its nice to be random sometimes....

A VINTAGE CARDY NOT FOR THE OLD PEEPS!

Well I've not been to the flicks in ages so as it was Orange Wednesday yesterday I popped round to the Odeon at the Printworks in Manchester to see "UP" in 3d, and it really was uplifting, (sad in parts too), but I enjoyed it muchly! I'm not one for kiddy films but its a must see! and there's really something novel about wearing retro style 3d glasses indoors.....

Anywho, I wore this for my hot date, which consists of my tan leather cowboy boots, thick tights, Pretty Disturbia, blurred floral print gather skirt (£44.99), a black poloneck and this fabulous vintage cardigan which I cleverly helped my mum, "clearout" last week. I'm doing her a favour really, she had one to many cardigans and it made her look older than she is, plus, I really love it. It has also brought to light that you can only wear vintage so long, before you dont look quirky, and ironic - you just look old fashioned. I just really hope that age is'nt 30 or I'm going to be tres depressed in January!......

HOT PINK TUTU'S AND BOWS!

Well, last night I wen't round to my parents house for dinner and we ate something called fat, hairy pig sausage... it was quite delicious, and I'm not even making it up! My Dad is Hungarian so I've grown up on Schnitzel, Gherkins and Goulash! Mangalica is a delicacy in Hungary, so we had it with crusty bread, picked sauerkraut, gherkins and emmental cheese, followed by homemade soup and Hungarian pork and rice. It was so delicious, even at 9am, I'm hungry for more...

Anywho, I wore this on Saturday to go to Matt and Phred's Jazz club, which consists of a black polo neck (Primark-£3.99), a vintage pink neck scarf which I got for 20p, rouched legggings and this fabulous Tutu which was a present, bought from an Independant designer from Devon. It combines my love for hot pink, tutu's and lace, all in one!
The bag is beautifully Handmade by a designer called Amanda O'Neill and cost £180. I get compliments for it wherever I go! I accessorised with big gold clip ons and my old faithful suede boots, which I must look at replacing at some point soon, but for now I can't bear to part with them.....

MATCHING LEGGINGS & CROP TOP!

Well I hope you put to use the extra hour in bed this weekend? I just snoozed it away, but it was oh so lovely to do so, and I still had enough time to catch a car boot sale, where I bought some fabulous bargains!....

I wore this on Friday which consists of a royal blue ASOS polo neck top, Topshop black tiered skirt (£32.99) and some tres stylish Pretty Disturbia Blurred floral print leggings (£21.99) and matching crop top (£27.99) with a fabulous lil jacket from Quiz, which I always get complimented on. I donned my over the knee high boots and I was away... off for Cocktails at Restaurant, Bar & Grill and for dinner at Pesto, Manchester which I can strongly recommend for great value, tasty Tapas! A perfect Friday night indeed!.....

FLORAL BROOCHE & ANIMAL PRINTS!

Well, a happy Friday to you all! I'm a tad tired today after staying up until 1am this morning, having crazy dance offs after too much wine!
We danced to Hot Chip, LCD Sound System and the Prodigy. Not only was it muchly fun, there was lots of laughter and it was good exercise to top it off!
I'm actually thinking of making it a regular thing... I might however, have a re-think of the time it ends, mid week!

Anywho, I wore this on Wednesday as I re-discovered these old trousers in my clearout. I've had them since I was 16, the zip has bust and there far too tight but I can't bear to part with them as they are such a great length. Its oober hard to find good, wide leg trousers! I bought them from a discount catalogue shop, many moons ago for £4. I teamed it with a vintage polo neck top and one of my fave animal print jumpers which is from Matalan (notice it is long enough to cover the broken zip!!). I popped on a fancy flower brooche to accessorise and tried to put my fringe in a "bump" for a change.... Although it does highlight that I have tres bad, grey roots... doh!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Oh, and If you get bored, be sure to try the dance off thing...

VINTAGE PURPLE AND GOLD SHIMMER!

Well, I've just found out that Pretty Disturbia is through to round 3 of The General Store Competition!! Which means my interview last week was a success and I'm one of 3 Manchester based designers who have been chosen to showcase their collection on an exclusive fashion show on November 26th infront of the judges and press! I'm pleased as punch!!!...

In order to celebrate, I thought I'd take 5 minutes out of the mundane paperwork and accounts I'm updating to do another quick blog post!
So, this is what I wore on Sunday, which consists of another polo neck from H&M (£7.99), Navy leggings, Vintage purple leather boots and this fabuloso vintage dress which was another bargain at 50p at a car boot sale- (the same lady I bought the velvet 50p dress from too!) I glammed it up with one of my fave brown velvet belts which was £15 from Rags to Bitches and my investment Giorgio Armani hand bag (£600)
Now, I guess it's back to the accounts, whilst planning where to go out for dinner to celebrate, and more importantly- what to wear... ;)

VINTAGE CHRISTMAS KNITS & GREY!

I wore this little ensemble on Monday which consists of my favourite vintage Christmas jumper- (Ebay £20-dont you just love the shawl collar on it!) teamed with a polo neck top from H&M (£7.99) as well as a Topshop grey gather dress which was was one of those items that was hiding at the back of the wardrobe, I rediscovered on Sunday!

I wore my pointy tan leather boots over some striped over the knee denier socks from Primark. I opted for less was more accessories wise.
I don't think i've ever thought of putting the colours tan, orange and grey together but in a weird way, I think it works. Very Autumnal I thought... the grey skies and warm hues of the leaves complimenting each other.

80'S WORKING GIRL!

Well, I intend to continue my much needed clothes clearout when I get home so I must keep this post short and sweet, like this little number...

I wore this on Saturday night for my friends 80's themed birthday meal, which is just how i'd love to dress every day if I could. I'm wearing originally 80's clip on earrings and this dress I bought from a (very fabulous) Vintage shop in Hungary for £15, I've never actually worn it before, and managed to rip the net underlining by dancing a tad too crazily!...

I teamed the ensemble with my much loved, Italian studded leather boots with Tassles, which are'nt actually from the 80's but seemed fitting some how. I just don't think you can own enough vintage dresses. Not only do you not get caught wearing the same dress as anyone else (A-la primark), You feel tres special just owning it!
I did infact have the film "Working Girl" in mind for a glam, yuppy 80's themed outfit... but I do wonder if infact look more like an actually working girl...... hmmm.
Mental note, next time- ditch the red lipstick.

50p VELVET VINTAGE!

I hope you had a fabulous weekend! I indeed did, mixing restful, with an 80's night and a clothes clearout for fun and positivity at its best! I find it so hard to part with clothes but am always so glad when I do and re-discover some great finds hiding in the back of the wardobe!

So, on Saturday I wore this outfit which consists of an 80's velvet vintage dress I got from a Car boot Sale for 50p, My New Look Tan leather jacket with matching high heel boots, brown leggings and again my belt which I love to wear as a necklace. The fact I wear this a lot lately is also spurring me on to have an accessories clearout so I can access some of my fabulous vinatge Jewellery which looks so pretty in Vintage boxes above my wardrobe but is'nt easily accessible on a daily basis- or any basis for that matter!
I know I will have really made it in life when I get that big, gorgeous walk in wardrobe I've always dreamed of....

STUDS, SLASHES AND DRIPS!

Well, last night I had an interview for the second heat of a competition at The (very fabulous) General Store in Manchester to potentially have Pretty Disturbia sold in the directional and stylish shop over Christmas, including PR and marketing support, and the opportunity to feature in an exclusive Fashion Show in November.
I love nothing more than to see my designs being strutted down a catwalk, there really is nothing like the amazing high you get from seeing the collection come to life under the spotlight. So fingers crossed peeps....

As it was a Pretty Disturbia day yesterday, I wore our best selling black body con drips dress which is hand dyed and only £42.99 from the online store. In addition to that, I teamed it with a chain belt worn as a necklace, my stunning italian studded and tassle designer boots which cost £250 and the Pretty Disturbia satin mesh and binding jacket which is £74.99 (and has only just been added to the website, this morning). All in all I felt smart yet punky which sums up the versatility of Pretty Disturbia and how it can really be dress up or down to suit any occassion....

PUNKY KNITS!

Well yet again I find myself behind on the daily posts, but I do have an excuse this time due to the fact, I've had a (well needed) 4 day mini break in Oxford! It started with cocktails and Jazz in a boutique 4 star hotel and ended at Blenheim Palace, so it was fabulously glamorous and decadant, and I will be certainly doing it again sometime soon!

The outfit here was what I wore on Friday, which consists of a long knitted cardigan with fake fur collar which I purchased for £2.50 from a Charity shop, A long knitted vintage style tan jumper which was a present last Christmas, and some bondage style, wet look leggings with gathers which I bought from an online designer website. My chain belt which I wear as a necklace is worn to compliment my brown over the knee boots. I know Winter's is well on its way as I find myself grabbing for my chunky knits and anything with fur.....

SEQUINS AND PEARLS!

Well a happy Monday to you all! I hope the start of your week has'nt been as hectic as mine!
I had a lovely weekend though, which was dominated by relaxing, sleeping, eating and most importantly.... some old fashioned retail therapy. I feel refreshed and ready to face the week, head on!

On Friday night I ventured out to Las Iguanas in Manchester for Dinner so I wore this sequin dress which I purchased from a car boot sale for £3, teamed with plain black leggings from New look and some fantastic patent shoes which I've had years. To accessorize, I wore big pearl studs from Next, Pearl beads from Marks and Spencer's and this vintage clutch bag which also has a stylish, pearl clasp opening....I heart 80s clutch bags!
Although I'm not a great fan of sequins, its nice to glam it up with a bit of sparkle and shine every once in a while....

BROWN AND NAVY!

Happy Friday all! I hope you have a lovely weekend, I also hope mine was better than last weekend which was just oober stressful from start too finish.
This week has been extremely manic all round. I even missed the Renegade Marmalade AW launch last night, due to having too much to do, which I was frustrated about.
Incase you don't know, Renegade Marmalade is the hottest designer boutique on Thomas Street in Manchester and it therefore stocks Pretty Disturbia, among other directional brands. Make sure you pop by and take a look when you can, its a must see...

Anywho, Yesterday I wore this vintage style polo neck which I bought from Hungary for £15, a navy bolero, vintage brown velvet belt from Rags to Bitches, A blurred floral print gather skirt by Pretty Disturbia for £44.99, Navy leggings from Ebay and my old faithful brown over the knee boots.
Who says Brown and Navy should'nt be worn together?? Well, my mother for one. I would personally have to disagree, but you make up your own mind......

BALLET RIBBONS & GATHER SKIRTS!

I really can't believe it's October already? This year is truly flying by, at an exceptionally fast pace.....
Last night, (among many other things ) I managed to pop along to the Trafford Centre to pick one of my 30th Birthday presents from my fabulous sister. I will, in January own the most perfect, over the knee, studded Carvella boots from Selfridges, and can't stop thinking about how really fantastic they are. They make turning 30, almost worthwhile...

Anywho...it was a long day, but I was comfortable is this little ensemble which consists of this gorgeous ballet inspired, Pretty Disturbia, egyptian cotton vest which has interlocking ribbons and pink logo, and costs just £24.99.
I teamed it with a baby blue long sleeve top, brown leggings from ebay, my vintage grey boots and this lace print gather skirt, from Pretty Disturbia for £44.99. Its a predominantly Pretty Disturbia dominated outfit, but I had many lovely compliments for it and felt comfortable all day long, even in the busy, hussle and bussle of the Trafford Centre....

LONG KNITS AND ANIMAL PRINT!

Well, I'm still behind on blog posts, but intend to do two today in the attempt to catch up. Here is Monday's outfit which consists of this stunning, animal print, vintage dress- a fabulously picked present, which I happily received last Christmas. (It was apparently purchased from ebay for £20)

I am wearing plain black leggings, satin peep toe shoes from Dolcis, long drop earrings from Mikey and my very fabulous, Long length John Richmond Cardigan... Yes, the one I got for £3 on a Car boot sale! Who would ever want to part with this timeless classic? The photo really does'nt do it justice, its such a fantastic collection piece which manages to dress up the simplest of outfits. It has to be the best buy of the year for me, so far....
