RED, BLACK AND BARE SHOULDERS!

Well I'm completely hungover today but its no wonder after all the champagne and red wine last night! I have only myself to blame! I did have a fabulous night out though at The Christian Audigier party with some very fabulous people! We also met a lovely snake called Doris May, but thats another story....

So, I wore this little number, which is a red satin dress which cost me all of £3 in a charity shop, as well as this Morgan cut out sleeves top, black leggings, high heel witchy boots and some fabulous 80's accessories- an animal print waspie belt and red leather clutch bag, both from Car Boot Sales- the belt was only 20p- crazy huh!
Now where's that paracetemol, or maybe another glass of wine will take the pain away?.....

A GRECIAN STYLE DRESS FOR £1

Well, I'm listening to Christmas songs as I blog and am feeling in a very festive mood, with just over 2 weeks to the big day!! I really am a big kid when it comes to Christmas and I even get butterflies just thinking about it. I take it this is not normal behavior for a 20-Something??....

Anywho, atleast yesterday I looked grown up in this a simple vintage black polo neck and a vintage brown 70's dress which I picked up from Retro rehab for just £1!!! A big bargain indeed. To accesorize I teamed it with All Saints kitten heel boots, my vintage brown velvet belt from Rags to Bitches in Manchester and some big old studs from Peacocks! Now back to day dreaming about Christmas..... (atleast for a little while!)

80'S CHRISTMAS JUMPERS!

Happy December peeps! I can't tell you how excited I am for the big day! I intend to celebrate the fact its December by having a mulled wine at The North Pole tonight, followed by watching Home Alone or Bad Santa to get me into the festive mood! Christmas is without doubt, my favourite time of year and I embrace it like an 8 year old, with my Barbie advent calender and by watching a cheesy Christmas film every day in the run up to the 25th!

So, as its that (very fabulous) time of year it seems appropriate to get out my favourite vintage Christmas Jumper which I bought for the unbelievable price of 50p on a Car Boot Sale! I would have paid £50 I love it so much! It looks so fabulous as it is, I threw on some leggings and some big gold studs with my over the knee suede boots to complete the look! If I only I had more of these classic vintage jumper dresses!!!.... aha!, something to add to my (ever growing) Christmas list!! ;)

KAREN MILLEN, COCKTAILS & WITCHY BOOTS!

Well, I had a lovely evening last night at an exclusive Karen Millen fashion show and cocktail night in Manchester, where Nick Ede From Project Catwalk gave styling tips for the season and I managed to chat make up to Lisa Eldridge who even commented on my eyemake up as looking nice! ....A compliment indeed, from a make up artist for the stars!
I had the most delicious mint, wine and Disaronno cocktail, I'd have to say its the nicest cocktail I've ever had! Disaronno has now, been newly added to my (ever growing) Christmas list!

I wore this ensemble which consists of a classic black polo neck and leggings, my much love All Saints handkerchief hem skirt £70, Pretty Disturbia sheer, satin binding jacket £74.99, teamed with my high heel witchy boots and pearls from Marks and Spencers £15. The boots seemed a good idea at the time but after being stood up all evening and then out until 12 around Manchester, Maybe slightly smaller heels would have been a more practical idea!....

FESTIVE SPARKLE AND DIP DYE EFFECTS!

Well I hope you had a fine relaxing weekend? I worked at the MFN Sample Sale on Saturday but had a great time doing it, as always!
Yesterday was a day of watching Sex & the City and eating Bacon butties in bed, as well as Christmas shopping and I had a warming dose of Harry Ramsdens fish and chips to keep me going! it was delicious.... I really must start back on that exercise regime to cancel out my piggish eating next week!....

I wore this sparkly dress from Topshop, with my vintage velvet belt from Rags to Bitches, wet look leggings, a Pretty Disturbia long sleeve dip dye top for £34.99 and my tan leather cowboy boots. I accessorised with a stunning vintage 1950's necklace which I got from a car boot sale in Clitheroe for £8! Talking of car boot sales, I did try and go to my usual one yesterday morning and it had stopped for Christmas!! It just was'nt the same, not picking up some second hand bargains in the early hours of a cold brisk Sunday morning....

RETRO DOTS AND MUSTARD!!

I had a lovely evening last night, out celebrating the fact Pretty Disturbia has been shortlisted for a Drapers Etail Award in the Best New Etailer Catagory!! Not too Shabby hey! So, I took a look at the Xmas Markets in Albert Square before having a delicious meal in Livebait and then onto Restaurant, Bar, Grill for Berrini fuit coctails!! A delightful evening in Manchester!!...

I did'nt get too dressed up, as it was Wednesday after all! I wore a brown polo neck from Hungary with matching Leggings from H&M, This dress which I got in an discount outlet shop for just £10, a Pearl/Diamante necklace from Marks and Spencers £20, and this Classic yellow cardigan from Primark £7!
I wore my old faithful leather cow boots for warmth and comfort, it is Manchester after all so in true Manchester style, it rained with a brisk winter chill in the air! .....I really can't wait for Christmas!!!.....

HOT PINK, NECK BOWS & SPLATTER!

A happy weekend eve peeps! I hope you all have lovely things planned this fine weekend? and unlike me you're working it, which is'nt ideal! I'm doing the MFN Sample sale again at the Triangle selling Pretty Disturbia pre-production samples for as little as £10, as doing it last week was both enjoyable and profitable, and it had the additional bonus of clearing some sample space in our eclectic, cramped office!

Yesterdays outfit, consists of one of my fave shrug cardigans in hot pink from Portabello road Market, London for £10!
A mutli coloured skirt from Primark, £15, wet look leggings and a Pretty Disturbia shirt with plum satin neck bow £34.99..... Which is also something you can buy a sample of on Saturday for just £10! A classic item, which never dates...
We hope to see you there ;) x

MARL, GATHERS & BIG BUTTONS!

Well, Im officially stressed as confirmed by my doctor. My poor little throat muscles have tensed up due to the stress in my life, leaving with me with a constant sore dry throat :( I've been given orders to switch off more and do more exercise. There really is'nt enough time in the day as it is, so I'm going to try jogging in my sleep and see how that goes.... ;)

I wore this yesterday which consists of marl grey leggings from Topshop, a Pretty Disturbia grey lace print gather skirt £44.99, an autumnal orange polo neck from H&M and a Pretty Disturbia button crop top for £32.99, as well as a lovely cropped jacket which I bought from Quiz for £27.99 which I always get compliments for, My PVC knee boots, vintage clip on earrings and my Handmade Amanda O'Neill designer bag £180- beautiful is'nt it!
I hope you all have a fabulous evening, I'm off for a lovely beautifully home cooked Hungarian meal at my parents house....

DIP DYE & LACE FACES!

Happy Friday/ Bonfire boxing day!! I hope you had a good fireworks full evening last night? Is it just me or was it not really celebrated this year? I know I live in the centre of Manchester but there was no fireworks to be seen from my balcony and we did'nt wake up to the usual morning-after smog?! Maybe everyone's is cost cutting with the recession or like me they spent too much on celebrating Halloween instead, which in my opinion is much more fun!

Anyway, I wore this yesterday which consists of a grey polo neck top, Pretty Disturbia lace and face print vest (£22.99) a Black skirt sample and some Pretty Disturbia dip dye stripe leggings (£24.99) with my over the knee boots and handmade designer bag by Amanda O'Neill (£180).
Right, I best dash off to prepare for the Manchester Fashion Network sale on tomorrow at The Triangle. Try and be there if you can for the chance to buy Pretty Disturbia samples costing just £10/£15!!! Less than half the RRP!......

GOTHIC 80'S & DENIM!

Happy Bonfire night to you all! I intend to celebrate it in the comfort and safety of my own home by grabbing a big blanket and watching everyone else displays from my apartment balcony, with a glass of wine at hand and candles around me!...

Anywho, I wore this last weekend to the "Lost boys" fancy dress Halloween party. Just my kind of style! Apart from the fangs and denim which I'm not really a fan of, I had the whole outfit anyway...
So, The jacket is from Morgan which I cropped myself, the vintage velvet dress is from a fabulous charity shop in Hungary for £18 and I teamed it with my over the knee boots and lace tights, as well as a gothic necklace which I've had for years. Doing my hair like that also really brings me backs to my 80's perms and how I dressed when I was 18, its just a shame my face shows much more "wisdom" than it did back then....

SAMPLE SALES & VINTAGE TOUCHES!

Well I've been mad busy this week preparing and clearing out Pretty Disturbia samples for the Manchester Fashion network Sample sale, which were doing this Saturday coming from 11-5pm, at the Triangle! Try and pop by if you can, we have pre-production samples at just £10 each, a lot of which are one off pieces, so theres many bargains to be had!...

I wore this outfit yesterday, which consists of a vintage M&S green polo neck, with (ironically) a dress I got from another MFN sample sale for just £10! It has a missing button which I disguised easily with one of my favourite vintage waspie belts!
I wore short green boots and high shine black leggings for an altogether punky look. Ohh, and in true northern style, the fabulous Manchester rain made my hair oober frizzy to finish the crazed look off nicely....

VINTAGENESS & HALLOWEEN EVE!

A tres Happy Halloween to you all! I'm listening to "Thriller" as I write this to get me in the mood for the "Lost boys" themed fancy dress party I'm attending this weekend! I heart dressing up in dark theatrical vampish things, and its 80's too....perfect! I've even got the Lost Boys DVD to watch later to inspire me, having already decorated the apartment with tacky skull lanterns and skeletons!....

I wore this non halloween inspired outfit yesterday which consists of a vintage cardigan with frills, a kitsch, vintage floral print knitted vest (£9.99- charity shop) an aqua polo neck from H&M, Maroon leggings from Next, my Pretty Disturbia, plum satin gather skirt (£49.99) and my leather cow boy boots.
Now wheres my fangs? I'm going to pop them in whilst I work the next few hours, just because, its nice to be random sometimes....

A VINTAGE CARDY NOT FOR THE OLD PEEPS!

Well I've not been to the flicks in ages so as it was Orange Wednesday yesterday I popped round to the Odeon at the Printworks in Manchester to see "UP" in 3d, and it really was uplifting, (sad in parts too), but I enjoyed it muchly! I'm not one for kiddy films but its a must see! and there's really something novel about wearing retro style 3d glasses indoors.....

Anywho, I wore this for my hot date, which consists of my tan leather cowboy boots, thick tights, Pretty Disturbia, blurred floral print gather skirt (£44.99), a black poloneck and this fabulous vintage cardigan which I cleverly helped my mum, "clearout" last week. I'm doing her a favour really, she had one to many cardigans and it made her look older than she is, plus, I really love it. It has also brought to light that you can only wear vintage so long, before you dont look quirky, and ironic - you just look old fashioned. I just really hope that age is'nt 30 or I'm going to be tres depressed in January!......

HOT PINK TUTU'S AND BOWS!

Well, last night I wen't round to my parents house for dinner and we ate something called fat, hairy pig sausage... it was quite delicious, and I'm not even making it up! My Dad is Hungarian so I've grown up on Schnitzel, Gherkins and Goulash! Mangalica is a delicacy in Hungary, so we had it with crusty bread, picked sauerkraut, gherkins and emmental cheese, followed by homemade soup and Hungarian pork and rice. It was so delicious, even at 9am, I'm hungry for more...

Anywho, I wore this on Saturday to go to Matt and Phred's Jazz club, which consists of a black polo neck (Primark-£3.99), a vintage pink neck scarf which I got for 20p, rouched legggings and this fabulous Tutu which was a present, bought from an Independant designer from Devon. It combines my love for hot pink, tutu's and lace, all in one!
The bag is beautifully Handmade by a designer called Amanda O'Neill and cost £180. I get compliments for it wherever I go! I accessorised with big gold clip ons and my old faithful suede boots, which I must look at replacing at some point soon, but for now I can't bear to part with them.....

MATCHING LEGGINGS & CROP TOP!

Well I hope you put to use the extra hour in bed this weekend? I just snoozed it away, but it was oh so lovely to do so, and I still had enough time to catch a car boot sale, where I bought some fabulous bargains!....

I wore this on Friday which consists of a royal blue ASOS polo neck top, Topshop black tiered skirt (£32.99) and some tres stylish Pretty Disturbia Blurred floral print leggings (£21.99) and matching crop top (£27.99) with a fabulous lil jacket from Quiz, which I always get complimented on. I donned my over the knee high boots and I was away... off for Cocktails at Restaurant, Bar & Grill and for dinner at Pesto, Manchester which I can strongly recommend for great value, tasty Tapas! A perfect Friday night indeed!.....

FLORAL BROOCHE & ANIMAL PRINTS!

Well, a happy Friday to you all! I'm a tad tired today after staying up until 1am this morning, having crazy dance offs after too much wine!
We danced to Hot Chip, LCD Sound System and the Prodigy. Not only was it muchly fun, there was lots of laughter and it was good exercise to top it off!
I'm actually thinking of making it a regular thing... I might however, have a re-think of the time it ends, mid week!

Anywho, I wore this on Wednesday as I re-discovered these old trousers in my clearout. I've had them since I was 16, the zip has bust and there far too tight but I can't bear to part with them as they are such a great length. Its oober hard to find good, wide leg trousers! I bought them from a discount catalogue shop, many moons ago for £4. I teamed it with a vintage polo neck top and one of my fave animal print jumpers which is from Matalan (notice it is long enough to cover the broken zip!!). I popped on a fancy flower brooche to accessorise and tried to put my fringe in a "bump" for a change.... Although it does highlight that I have tres bad, grey roots... doh!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Oh, and If you get bored, be sure to try the dance off thing...

VINTAGE PURPLE AND GOLD SHIMMER!

Well, I've just found out that Pretty Disturbia is through to round 3 of The General Store Competition!! Which means my interview last week was a success and I'm one of 3 Manchester based designers who have been chosen to showcase their collection on an exclusive fashion show on November 26th infront of the judges and press! I'm pleased as punch!!!...

In order to celebrate, I thought I'd take 5 minutes out of the mundane paperwork and accounts I'm updating to do another quick blog post!
So, this is what I wore on Sunday, which consists of another polo neck from H&M (£7.99), Navy leggings, Vintage purple leather boots and this fabuloso vintage dress which was another bargain at 50p at a car boot sale- (the same lady I bought the velvet 50p dress from too!) I glammed it up with one of my fave brown velvet belts which was £15 from Rags to Bitches and my investment Giorgio Armani hand bag (£600)
Now, I guess it's back to the accounts, whilst planning where to go out for dinner to celebrate, and more importantly- what to wear... ;)

VINTAGE CHRISTMAS KNITS & GREY!

I wore this little ensemble on Monday which consists of my favourite vintage Christmas jumper- (Ebay £20-dont you just love the shawl collar on it!) teamed with a polo neck top from H&M (£7.99) as well as a Topshop grey gather dress which was was one of those items that was hiding at the back of the wardrobe, I rediscovered on Sunday!

I wore my pointy tan leather boots over some striped over the knee denier socks from Primark. I opted for less was more accessories wise.
I don't think i've ever thought of putting the colours tan, orange and grey together but in a weird way, I think it works. Very Autumnal I thought... the grey skies and warm hues of the leaves complimenting each other.

80'S WORKING GIRL!

Well, I intend to continue my much needed clothes clearout when I get home so I must keep this post short and sweet, like this little number...

I wore this on Saturday night for my friends 80's themed birthday meal, which is just how i'd love to dress every day if I could. I'm wearing originally 80's clip on earrings and this dress I bought from a (very fabulous) Vintage shop in Hungary for £15, I've never actually worn it before, and managed to rip the net underlining by dancing a tad too crazily!...

I teamed the ensemble with my much loved, Italian studded leather boots with Tassles, which are'nt actually from the 80's but seemed fitting some how. I just don't think you can own enough vintage dresses. Not only do you not get caught wearing the same dress as anyone else (A-la primark), You feel tres special just owning it!
I did infact have the film "Working Girl" in mind for a glam, yuppy 80's themed outfit... but I do wonder if infact look more like an actually working girl...... hmmm.
Mental note, next time- ditch the red lipstick.

50p VELVET VINTAGE!

I hope you had a fabulous weekend! I indeed did, mixing restful, with an 80's night and a clothes clearout for fun and positivity at its best! I find it so hard to part with clothes but am always so glad when I do and re-discover some great finds hiding in the back of the wardobe!

So, on Saturday I wore this outfit which consists of an 80's velvet vintage dress I got from a Car boot Sale for 50p, My New Look Tan leather jacket with matching high heel boots, brown leggings and again my belt which I love to wear as a necklace. The fact I wear this a lot lately is also spurring me on to have an accessories clearout so I can access some of my fabulous vinatge Jewellery which looks so pretty in Vintage boxes above my wardrobe but is'nt easily accessible on a daily basis- or any basis for that matter!
I know I will have really made it in life when I get that big, gorgeous walk in wardrobe I've always dreamed of....

STUDS, SLASHES AND DRIPS!

Well, last night I had an interview for the second heat of a competition at The (very fabulous) General Store in Manchester to potentially have Pretty Disturbia sold in the directional and stylish shop over Christmas, including PR and marketing support, and the opportunity to feature in an exclusive Fashion Show in November.
I love nothing more than to see my designs being strutted down a catwalk, there really is nothing like the amazing high you get from seeing the collection come to life under the spotlight. So fingers crossed peeps....

As it was a Pretty Disturbia day yesterday, I wore our best selling black body con drips dress which is hand dyed and only £42.99 from the online store. In addition to that, I teamed it with a chain belt worn as a necklace, my stunning italian studded and tassle designer boots which cost £250 and the Pretty Disturbia satin mesh and binding jacket which is £74.99 (and has only just been added to the website, this morning). All in all I felt smart yet punky which sums up the versatility of Pretty Disturbia and how it can really be dress up or down to suit any occassion....

PUNKY KNITS!

Well yet again I find myself behind on the daily posts, but I do have an excuse this time due to the fact, I've had a (well needed) 4 day mini break in Oxford! It started with cocktails and Jazz in a boutique 4 star hotel and ended at Blenheim Palace, so it was fabulously glamorous and decadant, and I will be certainly doing it again sometime soon!

The outfit here was what I wore on Friday, which consists of a long knitted cardigan with fake fur collar which I purchased for £2.50 from a Charity shop, A long knitted vintage style tan jumper which was a present last Christmas, and some bondage style, wet look leggings with gathers which I bought from an online designer website. My chain belt which I wear as a necklace is worn to compliment my brown over the knee boots. I know Winter's is well on its way as I find myself grabbing for my chunky knits and anything with fur.....

SEQUINS AND PEARLS!

Well a happy Monday to you all! I hope the start of your week has'nt been as hectic as mine!
I had a lovely weekend though, which was dominated by relaxing, sleeping, eating and most importantly.... some old fashioned retail therapy. I feel refreshed and ready to face the week, head on!

On Friday night I ventured out to Las Iguanas in Manchester for Dinner so I wore this sequin dress which I purchased from a car boot sale for £3, teamed with plain black leggings from New look and some fantastic patent shoes which I've had years. To accessorize, I wore big pearl studs from Next, Pearl beads from Marks and Spencer's and this vintage clutch bag which also has a stylish, pearl clasp opening....I heart 80s clutch bags!
Although I'm not a great fan of sequins, its nice to glam it up with a bit of sparkle and shine every once in a while....

Friday, 2 October 2009

BROWN AND NAVY!

Happy Friday all! I hope you have a lovely weekend, I also hope mine was better than last weekend which was just oober stressful from start too finish.
This week has been extremely manic all round. I even missed the Renegade Marmalade AW launch last night, due to having too much to do, which I was frustrated about.
Incase you don't know, Renegade Marmalade is the hottest designer boutique on Thomas Street in Manchester and it therefore stocks Pretty Disturbia, among other directional brands. Make sure you pop by and take a look when you can, its a must see...

Anywho, Yesterday I wore this vintage style polo neck which I bought from Hungary for £15, a navy bolero, vintage brown velvet belt from Rags to Bitches, A blurred floral print gather skirt by Pretty Disturbia for £44.99, Navy leggings from Ebay and my old faithful brown over the knee boots.
Who says Brown and Navy should'nt be worn together?? Well, my mother for one. I would personally have to disagree, but you make up your own mind......

BALLET RIBBONS & GATHER SKIRTS!

I really can't believe it's October already? This year is truly flying by, at an exceptionally fast pace.....
Last night, (among many other things ) I managed to pop along to the Trafford Centre to pick one of my 30th Birthday presents from my fabulous sister. I will, in January own the most perfect, over the knee, studded Carvella boots from Selfridges, and can't stop thinking about how really fantastic they are. They make turning 30, almost worthwhile...

Anywho...it was a long day, but I was comfortable is this little ensemble which consists of this gorgeous ballet inspired, Pretty Disturbia, egyptian cotton vest which has interlocking ribbons and pink logo, and costs just £24.99.
I teamed it with a baby blue long sleeve top, brown leggings from ebay, my vintage grey boots and this lace print gather skirt, from Pretty Disturbia for £44.99. Its a predominantly Pretty Disturbia dominated outfit, but I had many lovely compliments for it and felt comfortable all day long, even in the busy, hussle and bussle of the Trafford Centre....

LONG KNITS AND ANIMAL PRINT!

Well, I'm still behind on blog posts, but intend to do two today in the attempt to catch up. Here is Monday's outfit which consists of this stunning, animal print, vintage dress- a fabulously picked present, which I happily received last Christmas. (It was apparently purchased from ebay for £20)

I am wearing plain black leggings, satin peep toe shoes from Dolcis, long drop earrings from Mikey and my very fabulous, Long length John Richmond Cardigan... Yes, the one I got for £3 on a Car boot sale! Who would ever want to part with this timeless classic? The photo really does'nt do it justice, its such a fantastic collection piece which manages to dress up the simplest of outfits. It has to be the best buy of the year for me, so far....

Wednesday, 30 September 2009

BELT NECKLACES AND BIG BOOTS!

Well, I'm a day behind on the old posts but will catch up at some point soon, I'm sure. Work has been so hectic of late, there really is'nt enough hours of the day to get it all done!
Anywho, its good to be busy so I can't complain....

I wore this outfit on Sunday, when I wen't out for a late evening meal to Las Iguana's on Deansgate, Manchester.
It included the lovely vintage purple dress you could'nt see in the "Vintage, Check and Velvet" post, which I got from a car boot sale for just £2, Navy leggings from ebay and my Primark tartan blazer.
I accessorised with a chain belt around my neck (£1.50 from a Car boot sale) and my (tres fabulous) vintage Navy boots, which I heart- even though they're 2 sizes too big for me. I'm actually a size 5 but when the right boots come along, I can't say no- I just stick insoles in, add an extra pair of socks and I'm away....

Monday, 28 September 2009

VINTAGE, LACE & RUFFLES!

Well, I hope you all had a lovely weekend? Mine was'nt the best ever for personal reasons but I had a fab time on Saturday night when I wen't out with some old college friends to Restaurant, Bar, Grill in Manchester and then onto Beluga for drinks. A great night was had by all. We even sat outside by the garden heaters so it felt tres summery!...

I wore this eclectic vintage outfit which consists of a lace top, (I have'nt the foggiest where I got it from) this Stunning velvet cropped jacket which I got from Portabello market in London, a vintage waspie belt and one of my favourite gather skirts which was £45 in River Island a couple of years ago. I teamed it with some pink kitten heel boots and some big diamante stud earrings to glam up a somewhat glum feeling moi, which worked nicely. Dressing up, really does wonders to perk me up when I'm feeling blue...

BODY CON GATHERS!

Happy Friday Peeps! That time again hey!!! I had such a good time last night at the Manchester Fashion Network event, I'm actually still a bit drunk. Maybe it was the red wine... the white wine... and the cocktails that did it! I spent most of the evening talking to the fabulous, Clint Boon which was delightful, and I found out he wen't to my school- Cardinal Langley in Middleton. Small world hey?

Anywho, I wore this gorgeous body con gather dress, which is part of the Pretty Disturbia AW collection, its been a best seller for wholesale so far so we will sure it will do extremely well in retail. It will cost a mere £49.99, and will be available from the online store very soon! It's perfect for Christmas and New year parties! I teamed it with 2 snake necklaces from London, my over the knee, black suede boots and some big silver stud earrings from Peacocks for £2.
Well, I hope you all have a tres fabulous weekend, I'm very much looking forward to 2 days of relaxing, eating and sleeping, (once I've sobered up)....

Thursday, 24 September 2009

VINTAGE, CHECK AND VELVET!

I hope you're having a lovely weekend eve! I'm tres excited for another fabulous 2 days off !! Tonight I'm off out to a Manchester Fashion Network event so looking forward to that also, despite the fact I can't decide what to wear! At the last event they had, I made minimal effort and a photo of me ended up in Drapers....eek.

I wore this outfit yesterday, and although the mac is lovely, my gorgeous purple vintage dress is hidden! It was only £2 from a car boot sale, and has a rar-ra hem, I teamed it with a red vintage belt from rags to bitches for £8 and this cheap but stylish Mac from Primark, which I think is oober Audrey Hepburn style. Although I don't ordinarily like checks, this is classic in monochrome. I teamed it with black leggings and these beautiful purple satin peep toe shoes which I wore as a bridesmaid last year. They are really comfortable considering how high the heels are. Purple is such a great winter colour....

RETRO BRIGHTS!

Good afternoon peeps! I'm being tres naughty today and missing my ballet class. My poor ballet buddy has Swine flu and my left knee has only just recovered from last weeks intense dance class. O well, there's always next week...

This retro and tres bright ensemble is what I wore yesterday which includes an ultra bold orange polo neck from H and M, a timeless Navy Bolero-shrug from a car boot sale, Navy leggings from Ebay and this kitsch little H and M, mini skirt which I bought from a car boot sale for £2 years ago. I think it looks unbelievably vintage, I love it.
Unusually, I did'nt accessorize, but then there is so much going on with all the colour, less is more as they say...

O dear, I've just realised how much my tan leather cowboy boots are in need of a polish... dreadful!...

Tuesday, 22 September 2009

PURPLE PASSION!

Well I truly feel Winter is upon us, as I watch the rain pour down outside, and grab for my cardigan. There is something about September which means I don't want to get out of bed in the morning and would love nothing more, than to hibernate until Christmas.... is it just me?

Yesterday was just that, but I managed to drag myself from my cosy bed and popped on this classic, purple mini skirt from H&M, with a purple vest from Zara, chunky, cream beads from a car boot sale ( for £1), a sheer lace top from Topshop and this oversized black cardigan with floral broach from Primark.
I teamed it with my fabulous suede over the knee boots and had a hot pot of tea to perk me up, ready to start another busy week in fashion.....

Monday, 21 September 2009

BACK TO BLACK!

I had a lovely relaxing weekend, and would have loved just a few more days to catch up on sleep and rest! I must be getting old.... I hobbled all weekend due to a very stiff, swelled knee cap from over doing it at Ballet class on Wednesday. This did not aid my dancing skills at the 30th birthday party I wen't too on Saturday evening. As if I did'nt look comical enough dancing, not being able to bend one knee certainly did'nt help!..

Anywho, I felt very Azzedine Alaia in this body con dress from River Island which was £44.99 teamed with black leggings, Satin dolcis shoes and a diamante necklace from Marks and Spencers. Its not very often I wear head to toe black as I love colour, but sometimes its just nice to keep it simple and classic....

BRIDAL BALLGOWN!

Well as I mentioned, Last night I attended a fabulous Charity Ball in aid of Barnados, which was organised by my Fave vintage shop, Rags to Bitches at Manchester Museum. I did however, manage to pour boiling water from a garment steamer all over my foot so it blistered just as we left! I considered having a sudocrem foot all night but decided against it at the last minute!...

It was a fantastic evening, I even took part in a Charleston dance class!! The only downside was (other than my painful burn) I did have a lot of comments on how I looked like I'd just got married. I did'nt consider this when I bought this dress for £30 from Rags to Bitches, a few months ago, but I love it regardless!

I'm wearing an Accessorize broache in my hair, a Pretty Disturbia Cropped satin bolero, with a chic vintage shoulder bag, Peep toe heels from Dolcis (£25) and a Morgan pearl and diamante choker. If I had my way I would dress up this much every day, there's nothing quite like donning a pretty frock and twirling the night away.....

REPLAY BLUES!

Morning all! Well I am in agony from my Ballet class last night but enjoyed it muchly! However, I very much doubt I will be able to dance at the Charity Ball i'm attending tonight...hmmm.

Anyway, yesterday I wore this striking outfit combining the unsual colour combination of Navy and Olive.
The polo neck is from Next, the Leggings from Ebay, the olive body con skirt was £8.99 in H&M and this retro, denim cowboy shirt is Replay and was about £34.99, years ago.
I accessorised with a chunky olive belt which I got from a car boot sale for £1 and my tres comfortable, stretch olive boots which I only wish I had more of!..
Now what shall I wear to the ball? Any suggestions? I'm all excited....

AUTUMNAL & RETRO!

Somehow, I find myself still working away at my desk at 9pm on a Tuesday... Not good. I am very much, looking forward to my home cooked risotto with a fine white wine to compliment it when I get home!....

I wore this ensemble Yesterday which is full of layers again, although I (hopefully!) don't look like cake this time!

The shirt is a fantastic vintage find from a charity shop in London, the waistcoat, a grey pinstripe classic from Topshop (with vintage broache, £14.99 from an Antique fair) the coral is a timeless vest from Oasis £12, with my brown tutu designer skirt and grey marl leggings from Topshop!
Very Autumnal and retro, methinks...
Now it is certainly time for tea, Have a lovely evening peeps!

BLAZING CORSETRY!

Well, I've been a tad naughty and not posted for quite some time, so theres lots to catch up on!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend? I worked most of it again but refused to let it end without a bang. After working in my PJ's all day, I donned this lil outfit and went to to Revolution for a quick tea and onto the The Comedy Store, Manchester.
It was a fantasticly fun night for only £2 admission, but caused an unwanted monday morning hangover, I really could have done without!

My outfit consists of this classic blazer from Topshop, A corset (which I actually think is underwear) from Primark, the very fabulous Pretty Disturbia, blurred floral print gathered skirt (£44.99) with a necklace and peach coloured fishnet tights (both from Next) teamed yet again with my faithful over the knee suede boots....
A Voila.

CHEAP, BUT NOT SO CHEERFUL!

Happy weekend eve peeps! I feel like Winter is truly upon us and so I'm dressed in red and gold today! (I will post this tomorrow) in subconscious preparation for Christmas! I'm already trying to buy Christmas dvds on Ebay to add to my collection.... ( I heart Winter and Christmas!)

Yesterday's outfit consisted of a wintery color palette using Green and Navy with hints of silver sparkle.
I'm wearing navy leggings, tan knee boots and a primark navy skirt with a shiny patent grey belt from Dorothy Perkin's and my vintage M&S poloneck. I layered it with this bargainous sequin shrug from Mark One (£2 in the sale!) and accesorised it again with my old faithful London, twisty snake necklace.
All in all it's a cheap and cheerful outfit, except for the moody face which reflects the fact my normal facial expression is like thunder. O dear....

ROYAL BLUES!

I hope your all enjoying the working week and have caught up on work after missing a day! I seriously should have worked all weekend, there's a list a mile long to do!...
I somehow, however still find the time update this, as I love hearing what people have to say on the outfits!

So, this is Mondays ensemble, consisting of one of my tres versatile shrugs (which I own in many colours) and can only seem to purchase from London for some strange reason. If you know otherwise, please update me, I just don't think you can own enough of these!
Anywho, I'm wearing the burnout baby blue Pretty Disturbia button tee which you can hardly see with my long ratty hair as well this Topshop tutu which I paid around £40 for but truly love! Im wearing thick patterned tights and vintage grey boots which I bought when I was 15! Safe to say, I don't have a clue where they were from or how much they were, but they're well loved that's for sure!

FISHNETS, TAN LEATHER AND STRIPES!

Well it was a serious shopping day on Sunday at the Car Boot Sale, Where I picked up a stunning, long John Richmond black cardigan for £3. It truly made my weekend.

So for the shopping trip, I wore this leather jacket which I picked up previously at car boot sale for £4 (a bargain) as its real leather from New Look. It astounds me what people get rid of. This jacket is timeless?
Im wearing fish net tights and a classic 70s style shift dress which I've had years and never worn. I did my eyemake up to match with orange and turqouise, because I do love things to colour match, even though my uni design tutor told me it was cliche and contrived.... to me it's just good sense and a lovely challenge to get the colours to match just so. Don't you think?

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD STYLE!

Well, on Saturday I had the pleasure of going out with my old college friends in Manchester, so vamped it up with red lippy and this Vivienne Westwood style outfit for a bargain price! ( or as my dad calls her- Wivienne Vestwood.... bless him!)

The dress, I've had years and it's a classic H&M 60s style shift dress, which I teamed with my fantastic (but slowly dyeing on me) Suede over the knee boots, which I paid £200 for 5 years ago! I've had so many years pleasure walking in them, their like an old friend, I can't let go of them!
I'm accessorised with my bendy snake necklace from Portabello road, London and this Puffy sleeve tartan suit jacket from Primark which I have had several compliments for. Damn Primark for being so good, I don't want to like them but can't help do so....

LIKE A CAKE, MANY LAYERS!

Well, I hope you all had a lovely restful bank holiday weekend? As planned I slept and ate for most of it...so yet again, I'm back on the weight watchers soups! doh...

Anyway, this was Fridays outfit, which like a cake, has many layers!
I'm wearing a long sleeve white egyptian cotton top with a white navy striped waistcoat from New look- nautical style, teamed with a white belt from Zara and a cheap Primark Navy skirt, with my well loved leather cowboy boots (which are in desperate need of a polish) and grey £1 shop knee socks. I am also wearing a cropped metallic bronze jacket for which I always get complimented and have'nt the foggiest where I got it from. (Tres dizzy...)

AUDREY BLUE!

Happy Friday all! I hope your all ready for the fabulous bank holiday weekend??!I most certainly am. I 've stocked up on food, wine and films and intend to rest in bed for most of the 3 days!!...

I had the nicest compliment ever wearing this yesterday when my uncle told me I looked more like Audrey Hepburn, every day. Honestly, you really coul'nt have said anything nicer to me, and i've smiling with glee ever since! I did however, have a harsh reality check when I went to boss model agency an hour ago. Honestly, there's nothing like walking in a model agency for you to feel like an overweight midget!!

Anyway, this Audrey special consists on my favourite Morgan trousers, of which I lavishly have 4 pairs!! ( And I'm glad I invested in so many now Morgan is sadly closed!) Im wearing a sheer, see through Versace top, Topshop metallic knitted dress with a cropped jacket from Primark, my gold vintage choker and a belt which I have'nt the foggiest where I bought it from!
Right, Im off to start the weekend by cooking fajitas, opening the vino and listening to music far too loudly!... Enjoy!!!...

KITSCH CLEANER!

Good Afternoon! I'm feeling much better today, recovering nicely in time for the bank holiday weekend!

With regards to Yesterday's outfit, I thought I looked stylish in my kitsch 70s outfits but with todays fresh view, I fear I may look a lot like a red nosed cleaner and not quite Margo in "The Good Life" as planned!...

The outfit consists of a knitted H&M polo neck with a 70's vintage crinoline mini dress ( £15 from that fantastic Rags to Bitches again!) teamed with my classic dark denim, Miss sixty flares which cost me a pretty penny considering how little I wear them! I'm not a fan of denim as such and rarely wear it to be honest!
The outfit is accessorized with a retro belt from Primark (£2) and my well loved italian leather tan cowboy boots which you can just see peeping out. On that note, have a lovely evening and a happy weekend eve, I'm off to powder my red nose.
